Hi! I’m Sandra :)

Sandra Schreiner - Personal Training

As a little girl, my first encounter was with ballet. My ballet teacher at the time, Jutta, with her studio in the neighboring town (10 km away), was able to ignite my passion as a dancer for nearly a decade.
As is often the case, during puberty I wanted to rebel against classical music and tried jazz, modern, and show dance, which meant saying farewell to classical ballet.

The latter opened up a whole new world of dance for me, as by the age of 13 we were traveling as a group throughout Bavaria, and by 15, after joining a well-known show dance group, we toured various destinations across Germany to perform our 30-minute show.

Group sports challenged not only me and my body but also my discipline: training three times a week all year round, up to 50 performances a year, changing competition dances in different categories, and numerous trips. Like in a big family, we celebrated, laughed, mourned, and cried together.
We were able to celebrate many successes (winning the European Championship twice, competing in multiple German and Bavarian Championships in various dance categories), but we also had to face challenges (the competition never slept). We were named as highlights at guard festivals, gala balls, and parties, and we were even invited to perform our shows on television during the carnival season.

I remained loyal to this sport for over a decade, gaining many friendships and, above all, a wealth of experience with the body from which I still benefit today: as a dancer, perfect and precise execution is essential, ensuring that all movements match the music. For lifts, both reaction speed and strength are required; for acrobatics, in addition to motor skills and coordination, courage is needed; and the 30-minute shows, sometimes performed three times in a row in one evening, demanded tremendous endurance.

In my early twenties, I transitioned from the role of dancer to championship coach. A long-awaited dream came true when, in 2014, I successfully and proudly earned my Trainer C License from the DOSB (German Olympic Sports Confederation) at the DVG (German Association for Guard and Show Dance Sport). To this day, I regularly attend further training there, as well as first aid courses, in order to renew my certification.

The transition from dancer to coach was not easy. Fellow dancers suddenly became my dancers, performing to my lead (quite literally). All of a sudden, I was planning the training sessions, choreographing the dances, selecting the championship music, organizing training locations and competitions, designing costumes, choosing makeup, and much more. Even back then, I held myself to the standard of meeting my dancers’ expectations as best I could and creating varied training sessions.

I have remained true to this standard to this day: no training session is ever the same. I always strive to respond to my clients’ wishes and meet their expectations.

In 2016, after moving to Vienna, I shifted from coaching adults to working with children and left dancing behind. Working with children taught me how to explain movements precisely and clearly, make classes varied and playful, and encourage fearful children without pressuring them.

Even back then, the sport Bungee Super Fly kept appearing in my social media feed. In 2019, I flew to Amsterdam to learn this unique sport and successfully complete the training as an instructor. To this day, I am the only certified Bungee Super Fly instructor in Austria. From 2019 to 2023, I offered this class at Sportunion West-Vienna, and since 2024, I have been renting space at the same location to continue teaching this unique sport. Training in Bungee Super Fly is completely different because movements with the bungee automatically create a dynamic workout. With BSF, I can continue creating choreographies and thus remain connected to dance in a different way.

I realized that I never truly identified as a fitness trainer, as I had little direct experience with fitness equipment beyond the general knowledge you might get in gyms or from videos on Instagram/Facebook. Although I was permanently employed at a sports club and also led training sessions for seniors, I never felt completely comfortable with fitness machines and often sought advice from fellow trainers. Eventually, I looked for an official institution with certified trainers and found one at BSPA (Federal Sports Academy Austria). During the COVID period, I was finally able to complete the Sports Instructor with a focus on Fitness – Gym program in 2021 and began to feel comfortable as a trainer in the fitness industry.

Through this, I was able to gain my first experience as a personal trainer and work with individual clients. I also had the opportunity to offer group training sessions in companies, focusing on the conditions available: bodyweight training (since not every company has sports equipment), running training, and mobility & stretching to counteract the rigid sitting posture many people have in their jobs.

I missed regular stretching and a complementary sport to my guided training sessions—something that wasn’t solely focused on strength, power, and endurance. I found that balance in yoga. In 2023, I traveled to Bali for five weeks and completed my 200-hour YTT (Yoga Teacher Training) at the Samasti Yoga School. Since 2024, I have been offering weekly yoga classes alongside my existing training sessions.

In 2025, I completed further training in Munich to become a Yin Yoga teacher, allowing me to immerse myself more deeply in the world of nreve systems, stretching and relaxation.

Through intensive training programs and certifications, I turned my most demanding hobby into a side profession in 2022 and have been sharing my passion and knowledge with others for quite some time. It is particularly important to me to offer varied training sessions that challenge my participants without overwhelming them. Proper execution remains a priority for me even after multiple repetitions, as my goal is to strengthen the body (not weaken it). I strive to regularly complete valuable training courses from which my clients ultimately benefit.

For me, the special part of being a trainer is witnessing my athletes take on challenges, repeat my exercises, grow from them, and gain strength—whether mentally (self-confidence) or physically (muscles). Ideally, they enjoy the training as much as I do (although some claim I take too much pleasure in “torturing” them 😉).
